The free newsletter making HR less lonely

The best HR advice comes from people who’ve been in the trenches.

That’s what this newsletter delivers.

I Hate it Here is your insider’s guide to surviving and thriving in HR, from someone who’s been there. It’s not about theory or buzzwords — it’s about practical, real-world advice for navigating everything from tricky managers to messy policies.

Every newsletter is written by Hebba Youssef — a Chief People Officer who’s seen it all and is here to share what actually works (and what doesn’t). We’re talking real talk, real strategies, and real support — all with a side of humor to keep you sane.

Because HR shouldn’t feel like a thankless job. And you shouldn’t feel alone in it.

Hey {{first_name|bro}},

You’re sitting there, bored out of your mind on a lake.

The water is blue, the sun is beating down on you, and your hands really hurt because you’ve been holding a wooden stick for 3 hours straight.

Oh… and your butt really hurts because you’re sitting on a shitty metal boat.

Sounds wonderful doesn’t it?

No, fishing sucks… for most people.

You see there’s two ways the rest of that story could go:

Path #1:

You sit there smelling rotten fish bait in the sun for the next hour and decide to pack it up and go home empty handed.

Path #2:

You sit there. Bored. For an hour…and then another 12 minutes… and then…

Your line gets a tug.

YOUR HEART STARTS BEATING…

BOOM! YOU JUST CAUGHT A HUGE FISH!

You come home happy, and actually eat dinner for the first time this week.

The difference?

12 minutes.

Now you guys probably don’t fish much. But you do do outreach.

And I’m telling you right now, I know alot of people who chose path #1 and left empty handed.

But for the few that did choose #2…

They’re good right now.

So choose path #2.
