Is luck really the only thing that gets you rich?
Look, maybe you’ve heard in your life that people like Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos are only rich because of luck.
Maybe you’ve even heard them say it.
Maybe they’ve said, “I wouldn’t be here without luck.”
So is that true?
Well, there’s no way to actually test it.
We can’t know if Mark Zuckerberg started Facebook today, with no social media existing, whether he’d become rich again.
We don’t know.
And we’ll never know.
But here’s the thing.
A lot of the people saying “it was all luck” are boomers.
So why does that matter?
Well, baby boomers grew up in a very prosperous time.
From when they were kids to around their early adult years, the economy was getting better and better.
Then when they became adults and had capital…
Society shifted to favor people who already had capital.
So they view getting rich as luck.
Now, to be fair, they also talk about hard work and all that.
But they still say the main factor was luck.
Here’s the reality:
No matter what you do, the outcome always involves luck.
Even something simple.
If you do your job and your boss pays you…
That’s technically luck.
You might say, “No, he has to pay me.”
But there’s still a small chance he doesn’t.
So it is luck.
It’s just very high probability.
And that’s the key.
Getting rich isn’t about removing luck.
It’s about increasing your odds.
If you have a 99% chance of succeeding…
Then yes, technically it’s still luck.
But it’s in your favor.
So how do you increase your odds?
Simple.
More conversations.
More outreach.
More sales calls.
Every person you talk to is another chance to get a client.
If you sit in your room all day practicing or building something…
You can do that for years.
But your odds of actually making money won’t increase much.
Maybe a little.
But not enough.
So what do you need to do?
You need to get in front of people.
That’s it.
That’s how you increase your odds.
And that’s how you make “luck” work for you.
