Hey {{first_name|bro}},
Just so you know I get permission for these types of emails first. If you wanna be in one reply below.
It starts off with me:
There's two doors.
one door leads to your best life, everything you could've ever wanted
the other door leads to a crappy 9-5 and a life filled with depressing nights watching Netflix, wishing you would've "just took that risk"
For each door, there's two pamphlets.
pamphlet A tells you everything you could need to know about that specific door, if you'll make money, why it's good, what's your chances of success.
Pamphlet B has one word:
Yes or No. Yes means you'll love that door, it'll be great, You'll have the time of your life. No means you'll hate it, it sucks, and you don't want to do it
Are you choosing Pamphlet A or B?
I think it's fine to switch niches if you think it's not for you.
but don't switch just because you don't like it. That's not a good reason.
Because evenutally, you're not going to like the next thing, and the next and the next
The he says:
With the last part I agree
But that time that you don’t like the thing will go away then you’ll hate it again then you’ll love it and so on.
The thing is that you need to overall like it to be successful
I believe in this
If I would be happy in the crappy 9-5 and that would be the thing and live I overall like then I would be okay with it
Then I respond with:
You need to be happy with work, no matter what it is. Then it doesn't matter what you choose
Next he says:
There are and will be sacrifices that you hate through the journey but the destination is worth it
Then I go on with:
That's the thing.
You need to hate the walk but do it like you love the walk
i think if you like it that's like a nice bonus
Then he says:
It there are 2 paths to the same desired outcome, one you like doing, one you don’t. Which one would you go through faster and also don’t hate your life while working
?
The one you hate will take you to the same outcome so if you work and go down that path, the results will be the same good but for sure it’s easier and better to like what you do to some level
Then I hit him with:
I would choose the the one I don't here's why:
at first I would be pissed. I got the annoying option. I don't want to do it. I'd procrastinate I'd try and get away.
then I'd look at myself and realize I'm a loser who can't even sit down and click buttons for a few hours a day.
So I'd become obsessed.
And eventually, when the me who chose the thing he liked got to his "dip"... I'd be locked in. working 2x harder than him
in the end I'd get to the outcome faster... but the outcome?
yeah maybe it's cars, houses, or whatever. that's the secondary outcome.
the real outcome--- the one you can't get from the easy option.
is knowing what type of person I am
knowing that even though I hated it, I still showed up and I still tried hard.
I'd be a different man, one who doesn't let things decide what he likes. One who makes things into things he likes
I'd choose being a person who can work hard over a person who's happy any day.
because working hard, doing stuff I don't want to, and choosing the path most people don't like is what makes me happy.
I don't want to die a happy man. I want to die an accomplished man.
life is a plate of dinner and I'm not going to leave any specs left. I'll eat up every bit, even the stuff I don't like.
also, I know this sounds conry but it's like 1AM for me and I"m about to go to bed
