Hey {{first_name|bro}},
I want to share a story I heard from Trump.
Whether you like him or not, you have to admit the guy’s good at anything to do with charisma.
Anyways, it goes like this:
There’s this guy who’s got somewhat of a humble business.
Don’t get me wrong—it’s growing really fast, but he really loves what he’s doing and the way he runs his business is very hands-on… very passionate. So “really fast” turns into “mega fast,” and this guy is doing super well, with tons of momentum and tons of future ahead of him.
But then some conglomerate comes up and offers him a huge amount of money for the business—more money than he ever thought he could make.
So what does he do?
He takes it, of course, and ends up “living the life.”
Pretty wife… millions of dollars… super successful… pretty much every 25 year old’s dream.
But after 15 years of relaxing, that conglomerate comes back to him because they could run this business like he did. (you know how big businesses are.)
He ends up buying back his old, ruined business and tries to get back in the ring.
Don’t get me wrong, it was all bad, the price was actually very good and it could’ve worked out… but this guy gets ruined.
Every last penny spent on this dying business.
He goes from a super successful multi-millionaire to an overworked, soon-to-be homeless person with a lot of memories.
And then you know what happens?
Trump gets invited to this party (he’s young and successful at this time) and this guy—the guy with a ruined business—is sitting in the corner by himself.
Trump goes up and asks him something like, “Are you done?”
And he says, “Donald, it’s not going well… I lost my momentum. I should’ve kept going when I had my momentum.”
It’s really sad because the guy—if he would’ve just kept going—would’ve been 3x what he was.
Anyways, why am I telling you this?
Well, it’s because I see a lot of you guys saying, “I’ll just get rich and retire.”
But that’s not how things work. When you got the momentum, I don’t care if it’s an hour’s work or ten years of success…
Never stop your momentum.
Because it’s not the people who achieved all their goals who are the happiest, it’s the ones who are chasing a goal bigger than yours.
I wish you luck, {{first_name}}, your momentum is right around the corner.
