Marketing ideas for marketers who hate boring
The best marketing ideas come from marketers who live it.
That’s what this newsletter delivers.
The Marketing Millennials is a look inside what’s working right now for other marketers. No theory. No fluff. Just real insights and ideas you can actually use—from marketers who’ve been there, done that, and are sharing the playbook.
Every newsletter is written by Daniel Murray, a marketer obsessed with what goes into great marketing. Expect fresh takes, hot topics, and the kind of stuff you’ll want to steal for your next campaign.
Because marketing shouldn’t feel like guesswork. And you shouldn’t have to dig for the good stuff.
Hey {{first_name|bro}},
Do you remember how in my welcome email I said I was going to sell in every email to show you guys how it’s done?
Well, to most people it looks like I’m a liar. A fraud.
A cheap cop-out that told his audience one thing and went and did the other.
But most people are wrong.
Here’s why…
You see, I never actually stopped selling; I just stopped using direct response, stopped showing it, and stopped putting a link in my CTAs.
Now obviously there were times when I did do that stuff, but there were also times when it was just a plain value email.
No salesy text, no obvious “buy now” buttons and no stupid blue links.
But do you know what?
I was selling even more than I do in direct response emails.
You see, I wasn’t selling a product or course… I was selling the lesson I’m teaching, I was selling the email, and I was selling myself.
And that’s exactly what you need to do in your emails.
You can’t just give the people “top 5 tips” or some BS—you have to give them exactly what they want wrapped in psychological techniques to manipulate them into believing and trusting you.
How?
I’m glad you asked, it’s with something called… brand copy.
