This morning marked a huge turning point in my life.

It was 9:00 AM, and I was making coffee as usual, everything going fine…. I poured in the milk… and then…

My Dad asked for a cup.

Thought nothing of it at the time and began making him one too.

But here’s where things took a turn for the worse…

At this point it was 9:15 AM and I had two cups of coffee in my hand…. and I had to carry both of them to my Dad’s desk.

It felt impossible, almost dangerous, but I trudged on, and by the time it was 9:17 AM, I had already taken 3 steps.

I was wobbling down my hallway like a fat elephant on a tightrope…

Eventually, it was visible… the desk was there, and…

DISASTER STRUCK!

One of the cups was slightly filled over and about to tip piping hot coffee all over thousand-dollar hardwood floors…

So right before the coffee could make its escape, I yanked back and saved it from going everywhere. I did it I safely retrieved the cup!

but when I looked at my other cup of coffee…

Well, let’s just say my Dad took a hot-brown shower at 9:20 AM.

But while wiping all the coffee I spilled off of him, it got me thinking… This is exactly why most copywriters never make money.

They spend all their time focusing on one aspect of the business (like as me with the cup of coffee I saved)

But forget about the other things they’ve got to do. (and intern mess up and spill coffee everywhere)

Business is a scale, not black and white.

Go in-between things—do not only choose one side.
