Subject lines aren’t what get people to open your email.

Hey there,

Expecting mom?

Well, think again…

because I’m dropping sauce today:

Subject lines aren’t what get people to open your email.

Don’t deny it,

I literally don’t have a subject line for this email, and you still opened it.

Why?

It wasn’t the time I sent it…

Or what in inbox it landed in.

There’s only one thing I changed.

Can you guess it?

Well, it’s the from name.

Think about it, whose email are you going to open first?

Your mom?

Or Mcdonalds?

Your mom of course.

And look, I’m not suggesting you (or your client) change your from name to mom…

But if it’s something like…

John | company name

And your emails aren’t getting opened, you could switch it to just John.

Why will this get more opens?

Because you’re now mashed in with all the other John’s…

(which are all cool)...

So they HAVE to open the email to find out if it’s important John or “who cares” John.

But here’s the thing:

All of what I just told you is useless…

If you can’t grip the reader in the first 4 lines.

So don’t let this email go to waste…

P.S. For people who want to succeed:

Here are you’re tasks today…

  • Write an email with a from name as “fourth grader.”

Feel free to send me the finished product, I’m sure it’ll be funny 😂
