Anyways, that got me thinking…
I’ve done copywriting, I've done marketing, but have I ever done sales?
No, so let’s do it now.
First thing you need to know is that there’s a lot of templates out there…
Some good, some bad…
But you know what beats every technique, template, and even experience?
Research.
Boring, right?
That’s what I thought on my first sales call, so I didn’t do any research.
All I had was a 💩 sales script.
I went in andddd…
I was demolished.
The sales script?
Flew out the window, and all I had left was a glass of water to drink on.
So why did I do so badly?
Yes, research, but also…
I came in with a mindset of “this is my customer, I need to use this script to sell to them.”
And that’s wrong, your prospect?
They're a business partner.
And guess what?
If they're a business owner, they have to sell to their customers.
So when you come in with the “emotional roller coaster,” it doesn’t work.
Then what’s the solution?
There are two, and you should do both.
First, just be real, bro…
You don’t have to hard-sell them, they already want to buy.
You just need to have a conversation with them.
Second, have the perfect script.
If all the others didn't work, that’s just because they’re bad…
