The best HR advice comes from people who’ve been in the trenches.
That’s what this newsletter delivers.
I Hate it Here is your insider’s guide to surviving and thriving in HR, from someone who’s been there. It’s not about theory or buzzwords — it’s about practical, real-world advice for navigating everything from tricky managers to messy policies.
Every newsletter is written by Hebba Youssef — a Chief People Officer who’s seen it all and is here to share what actually works (and what doesn’t). We’re talking real talk, real strategies, and real support — all with a side of humor to keep you sane.
Because HR shouldn’t feel like a thankless job. And you shouldn’t feel alone in it.
Hey {{first_name|bro}},
So you’re dying to make $5k super quick, eh?
Well… you shouldn’t be.
I see so many people come into copywriting, spend a week writing fitness emails and boom.. they’re off to do outreach.
(and quit another week later if they even get that far)
I know, I know, you guys aren’t like that and you’ve been in this game for longer than 2 weeks.
But you can learn something from everyone.
Because while you might not be looking at copywriting as a get-rich-quick scheme, you’re probably focused on money.
And hey—there’s nothing wrong with that.
I just want to ask you, if you’re so focused on getting that money… why don’t you have it yet?
Look, I don’t want to be rude or anything—I went through the same thing.
And I can tell you the answer: you don’t have the basics down.
Yeah, you’re probably at the outreach phase rn, but you’re not actually booking many calls, are you?
Don’t worry, it’s normal.
The reason you don’t book calls is the same reason your emails wouldn’t convert… no basics.
You’ve watched a few youtube vids… you’ve read my newsletter… maybe you’ve even read a few marketing books.
But have you studied the LF8?
Have you researched passive and active tone?
Do you know how to assess market sophistication and write for every group?
Probably not.
I’m not trying to point this out to be a d_ck… I get you can’t research everything.
But what I realized is almost every copywriter nowadays doesn’t know the basic principles their “business model” stands on.
So today I’m giving you a chance to say… I don’t know everything… please tell me what’s right.
You’re going to have to do that at some point.
I’m just giving you the option to take it now.
