Marketing ideas for marketers who hate boring
The best marketing ideas come from marketers who live it.
That’s what this newsletter delivers.
The Marketing Millennials is a look inside what’s working right now for other marketers. No theory. No fluff. Just real insights and ideas you can actually use—from marketers who’ve been there, done that, and are sharing the playbook.
Every newsletter is written by Daniel Murray, a marketer obsessed with what goes into great marketing. Expect fresh takes, hot topics, and the kind of stuff you’ll want to steal for your next campaign.
Because marketing shouldn’t feel like guesswork. And you shouldn’t have to dig for the good stuff.
Hey {{first_name|bro}},
Alright it’s time for part 3—the sin of wrath.
Wrath is extreme anger.
So how do we use this to make people buy our stuff?
Well, there’s a number of ways. You can make them mad at themselves, you can make them mad at the competitors, you can make them mad at their problems.
But why don’t we do all of them together?
Here’s an example:
Let’s say you’re selling a weight loss course…
First we’re going to make them mad at their problems because it’s easy to hook people in with their "misfortunes."
We want to make them victims—
“Hey firstname,
If you’re tired of being overweight, as an ex-obese person, I want you to know something no one tells you.
It’s not your fault you can’t lose weight.”
This is just an example so I’ll keep it short, but you could hit harder if you wanted to.
We go on to make them mad at their actions—
“But it is your fault you got here.
Sorry—I know I wouldn’t like to hear that—the thing is, taking accountability for all the nights you told yourself “just one more, it can’t hurt” is the first set towards breaking free”
Again, could be better but this is just an example.
We go on to make them hate every other guru because we’re the best—
“Supprized?
I don’t blame you, almost every guru out there pitches their “perfect workout routine” or “amazing diet plan” like it’ll change everything over night.
But the real problem isn’t what you eat or what you do…
It’s your mindset.”
Blah blah blah—you get the point it’s just a stupid fitness email.
I’m just trying to show you how powerful these sins when used right can really be. Anyways, that's it for today.
Tomorrow we’re going over a big one so get ready for that it’s gonna be crazy.
Peace.
