How to Get Out of The Promotions Tab
From a Guy Who's Always in The Promotions Tab
Yo ,
If you want to get out of the promotions tab, I’ll expain how in a sec…
But first, why is it even bad?
Because if your email or your client’s emails land in the promotions tab, your rates will be 💩 .
Why?
Basically, not many people open much emails from that tab because everytime they do, they get sold.
And no one wants to be sold.
Anyways, if you get a low open rate (something like 20%), the amount of people who could buy is a lot less.
Which is bad because we want money.
So here are the best ways to get out the promotions tab:
Avoid using too much design in emails…
an email may look really nice, but if it’s almost a mini copy of your client’s website, this is highly likely to get flagged by Google as a promotion email.
Focus on simplicity with a logo, an image or 2, stand-out CTAs in your brand colors, and the rest just text.
Only send out emails when you have something to say, don’t just do it for the sake of it…
Keep your email list clean… (you can do this with drip campaigns)
If someone hasn’t opened for 3 months, get them out of the active segment/audience.
Focus on the remaining active subscriber list and set up the inactive segment to automatically add people not opened an email in the last 3 months.
Test different subject lines…
A subject line should spark curiosity or address a problem they’re having.
Write in sentences and avoid using too many punctuations and odd characters.
Keep your content useful and interesting… (sounds like ai, but it’s true)
Avoid using too much “me” marketing and focus more on creating interesting content that then links into what you sell.
Think about what emails you are likely to open and read.
The goal is engagement and relationship building, so look at it like your goal is to keep the email reader interested and entertained by your content.
Utilise subscriber's first name, address the email as you would if you were emailing a friend or colleague, “Hi firstname tag.”
And that’s it.
Still don’t get it?

P.S. Here’s the tasks today…
Actually write this down or something and use it
Also, feel free to ask me any questions, and I will get back to you in under 24 hours
P.P.S. Just to clear things up…
The reason my emails always land in the promotion tab is because I use beehiiv.
Because it’s free to send out emails (anyone with a 2 or more brain cells can do it)
There’s a lot of people who abuse it.
Which means that the sender reputation is 💩 (if you don’t know what that means, it’s fine, the video I linked explains it in great detail)
