Hey {{first_name|bro}},
I was just reading the Bible, but I stopped to make this email because what I'm about to share is so important.
Basically, in the story, Jesus is walking along, and he gets hungry.
So he sees some fig trees and goes over to inspect them. Now keep in mind, at the time it’s actually not fig season, so most of the trees aren’t making fruit.
(You can tell if a fig tree is making fruit if it has leaves.)
Anyways, all of the trees are leafless except one tree that has a ton of leaves—it’s what you would call “in leaf.”
But when Jesus goes up to the tree, there’s no fruit. So Jesus curses it.
Why?
Well, it’s actually a metaphor for people’s lives.
And I said I wouldn’t write any religious emails here, so I won’t get into exactly why he did it, but what I can tell you is how this applies to copywriting. (very important)
The tree with leaves had all the signs of a tree that produces fruit, but it didn’t make any fruit.
It’s the same with some copywriters.
They “work” 13 hours a day, outreach to a bajillion businesses, and write 23 emails every hour.
On the outside they look like they’re doing everything right, but they haven’t made any money, haven’t gotten clients, and, here’s the worst part… haven’t gotten better at copywriting.
Now I get it if you haven’t gotten results yet.
But if you’re not getting better at copywriting EVERY DAY, you’re just like the tree in the field.
And I know what you’re thinking…
“John, I am getting better.”
Really?
How do you know that?
And I’m not talking about some random newbie copywriter who's never had a client in his life telling you your copy is amazing.
I’m talking about real, tangible rates you’ve gotten.
If you just looked at that and thought, well, I don’t have that… You should start a list and email it every day.
This way, you actually know, day by day, if you’re getting better or if you’re just a hollow fig tree.
I’d even say that one email to a list of 100 people is x10 more valuable than writing 100 emails in a google doc.
Because when you leave em’ to rot in the google doc wasteland, they don’t tell you anything.
But when you’re sending out emails to a list, it’s like having your own personal judges to tell you whether or not your email is good.
Honestly, once you start mailing to a list, you’ll never need another review again.
And if you want an easy way to make money off your list, I’ve got an easy way you can do that without needing amazing copywriting skills or any prior “fame.”
Because I’ll literally teach you how to…
Get leads on your website that are eager for emails
Build a website that converts almost everyone who joins it
And write emails that FORCE people to click
Now this won't be for everyone.
Some people are happy staying hollow fig trees, and that’s just the way it is. But if you’re at all interested in any of the above. (or something I’m working on to skip out on outreach)
Reply below, and let’s have a little talk.
Peace.
