Hello my friend,

Today is friday and that means, from now on, I will be showing you one gut-wrenchingly terrible ad that you should NEVER copy.

Then I’ll tell you why it’s bad and how they could’ve made it better.

Ready?

Here’s ad numro uno:

This shit makes me want to cry.

This is literally anti-marketing marketing.

They’re literally reminding people how they don’t like ads… in an ad. This also positions them as:

1 not really caring about the people they’re advertising to

2 basically a bitch

“oh… please… buy our product… I don’t know how to make a good ad.”

The way I would approach this is very fucking simple:

AI fucked it up a bit but you get the point

Now maybe i’d add some benefits or something but mainly this is a ploy to get three things:

1 sms - if they use the app I’ll make them sign up to put their number in then i can send them marketing

2 emails - you already know what I’d do

3 app notifications - anytime there’s a sale, we can send out notifications

Now yeah, we’d probably break even in the beginning. But in the long run we’d make a shitload more money because…

WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME ANY DRINK BRAND TEXTED YOU?

never.

Boom, differentiating against everyone easily.
