Got this reply recently:
“I don’t know why you’re simple your emails. why you don’t go into complex things in there? I i’m tryed of simple simple simple. you start writing a comlex topic.”
You know what, this guy’s right.
My emails are WAY too simple.
Like… when was the last time I broke down the thermodynamics of how a soda can is made?
Or the supply chain implications of carbonation pressure at altitude.
I’m honestly ashamed that not even once have I discussed the tensile strength of aluminum alloys.
😢
You know what?
Maybe next email I’ll discuss the SUPER COMPLEX idea of using spell check.
Because this guy obviously doesn’t know how to do that.
Look, it’s actually a common misconception that simple emails are trash and complex emails are super good.
It could actually be ruining you emails.
Here’s the thing:
You shouldn’t write complex emails OR simple emails… in the way you think.
What you should do is write both in one email.
Now, that guy who replied to me is probably staring at his screen confused because his QI of 67 isn’t enough to understand this.
Let me put it simply:
Write about complex concepts… in a simple & entertaining way.

How?
well one of my favorite examples of this is AdQuick’s website.
They’ve got a super complex product but they actually talk about it in a way a toddler would understand. (good thing)
